Relish the rural setting and peacefulness of Dave and Sue Moore's family garden

Our daylily garden is a small portion of the Moore family's 60-year old working farm, which also specializes in growing Christmas trees.

The garden site was once home to a quaint 150 year old barn that was destroyed by Mother Nature - a wind sheer took it down.

For several years the area was strictly grass, until we decided it was a wonderful location for daylilies.  It is a sun rich spot and very inviting from the flanking state route - especially when our gently, sloping hillside is alive with hem color.

The traces of the barn are present in our garden.  The raised bed are delineated by oak beams and sandstone blocks from the barn.  Of course, the composted cow manure was also a terrific boost for our initial plantings.  Last year we added a gazebo to the garden's center, making it even a more inviting spot.

"Folks relish our bucolic setting and the peacefulness."
